Jeffrey Rumbyrt, MD

Jeffrey Rumbyrt, MD, has been with the Denver Allergy & Asthma Associates team since 1994 and has served as the President of the practice since 2000.  He sees patients in Westminster, Arvada, and Lakewood.

Dr. Rumbyrt grew up in Chicago, where his love of baseball (White Sox), Lou Malnati’s pizza, classic rock, and science was first kindled. He first became interested in medicine while in high school after visiting a genetics research lab at Argonne National Laboratory.

Dr. Rumbyrt obtained his Bachelor of Arts in biology at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He then attended and graduated from medical school at Loyola University of Chicago. After medical school, he completed his residency in internal medicine at Loma Linda University in California. He also completed an allergy and clinical immunology fellowship at National Jewish Health in Denver, Colorado. 

In addition to clinic responsibilities, he has been associated with Western States Clinical Research in Wheat Ridge, Colorado and has served as a principal investigator for over 50 clinical studies.  He has authored or co-authored several peer reviewed papers and book chapters.  He has served on numerous advisory boards and frequently lectures on new therapies used in the treatment of various allergic and immunologic diseases.  He is also a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.

Over the years, Dr. Rumbyrt has amassed a veritable storehouse of useless trivia.  He loves to speak in accents.  His favorite topics of discussion include baseball statistics, classic rock bands and their music, and his innate inability to figure out the latest problem with his 1966 Mustang.  His three adult children have demonstrated amazing patience with his quirks.

He has a special interest in treating chronic hives, asthma, immune deficiency, and hereditary angioedema.  He looks forward to working with new and existing Denver Allergy & Asthma Associates patients.
