Welcome to Boulder Valley Asthma and Allergy/Denver Allergy and Asthma. Our offices are located throughout the Denver/Boulder metro area and have been serving our community for over 50 years. We are proud of our almost 150 years of combined experience in treating asthma and allergic diseases, numerous publications and participation in clinical trials in state of the art clinical research trials with Western States Clinical Research.
We serve in positions of leadership with the Colorado Asthma and Allergy Society, have served on national committees with the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (ACAAI) and American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI), participated in advisory boards for novel pharmaceutical treatments, and have academic appointments and serve on the teaching faculty at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. In addition to treating common asthma and allergy conditions, our practice also specializes in caring for patients with rare immunologic and immune deficiency disorders that are not HIV.
When we say, “the doctor will see you,” we mean exactly that. You’re not making an appointment with a nurse or a physician’s assistant, just your doctor.
Our allergists offer a full range of allergy diagnostic and therapeutic services for asthma, allergies and allergy shots, food allergies, hives, eczema, insect sting allergies, angioedema, and medication allergies (example: penicillin).
If you would like to visit one of our offices, feel free to contact us today at (303) 234-1067.

Read MoreOver 40 years ago I started my career here with Denver Allergy & Asthma, now Boulder Valley and Denver Asthma and Allergy. I have been witnessed incredible changes in the treatment of allergies, asthma and other immunological diseases.
It is now time to pursue other adventures and challenges.
Starting in January 2023 I will be working on a limited basis and then fully retiring at the end of March. This will give time for new physicians in the practice to be completely on boarded.
It has been a joy and privilege being your physician. I have known many of you for so many years and treated numerous family members. I will miss each of you and keep you in my prayers. I leave knowing there are other exceptional physicians to provide your medical needs.
As a young physician I was blessed with two wonderful daughters who quickly became the center of my life. But practicing medicine continued to be an integral, important, and challenging part of my life.
I have always felt I am one of the luckiest people on earth to be doing the work I love and having a family that I treasure. My daughters have found two amazing young men and now I am also a grandmother. I am looking forward to spending more time with all of them.
So I bid you goodbye. God Bless each of you.

Prior to this, she trained in Pediatrics in the Bronx borough of Manhattan where she managed patients affected by the highest rates of asthma in the country. She is a board certified Pediatrician and Allergist and looks forward to treating both children and adults alike who suffer from allergic diseases.
Dr. Gupta was raised in the North Suburbs of Chicago but moved to New York at the age of 16 where she completed her undergraduate degree, medical degree, and residency prior to moving to Denver. Read MoreDr. Menich, M.D. grew up in the Chicago area, and attended the University of Illinois as an undergraduate, where he majored in history. After a couple of years in the business world, he decided his true calling was medicine, and returned to the University of Illinois for medical school, on a full scholarship from the U.S. Army.
He did his internship at Phoenix’s Maricopa County Hospital, and then finished internal medicine residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He practiced general internal medicine for eight years at military hospitals in Belgium, Germany, and Virginia before returning to Walter Reed, for his allergy and immunology training. After practicing and teaching at Walter Reed, Fort Belvoir, Virginia, and NATO headquarters in Belgium, Dr. Menich finished his military career at Fort Carson.
He has lived and practiced in Colorado Springs following his retirement from the Army, and liked it very much, but couldn’t turn down the opportunity to work with Dr. Bock in a well established, well-respected practice in the beautiful mountain community of Boulder.
Dr. Menich, had many interesting experiences in the military, and held multiple leadership positions, including the command of the clinic at NATO headquarters, but he has always found patient care to be the most rewarding and enjoyable activity of his professional life. He is board certified in both internal medicine and allergy-immunology, and enjoys seeing patients of all ages. He brings excellent training and a wealth of experience to the practice, treating the full benefit, treating the full breadth of asthma, allergic, and immunologic disorders. He feels very strongly that, before any testing or treatment, listening must come first.
Dr. Menich has additional training, and many years of experience, in travel medicine. He is a diplomat of the International Society of Travel Medicine, and is authorized by Colorado as a provider of yellow fever vaccine. If you are spending a semester abroad, taking a safari as a dream vacation, going on a mission to a developing country, or accepting a job assignment overseas, there’s much more to it than “What shots?” Dr. Menich can help you prepare for the safest possible experience.
When not in the office, Dr. Menich enjoys his family, hiking, biking, fishing, cooking, and reading history. He is a lifelong Cub fan, but of course roots for the Rockies when they’re playing any other team.

While there, he worked in the immunology lab at the medical school, a position that sparked his interest in the field. He obtained his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University on an U.S. Army scholarship and did his internal medicine residency at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Aurora (now the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus). He spent the next 4 years as a staff internist at the US Army Hospital in Heidelberg, Germany.
He left military service in 1997 and joined the staff of the University of Vermont where he was also assistant professor of medicine, teaching medical students and residents. After 3 years in primary care internal medicine, he decided to seek specialty training and re-joined the Army to do so. He completed his allergy/immunology fellowship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in 2002, and from there returned to Germany to become Chief of Allergy at the US Army Hospital in Würzburg where he also functioned as Chief of Medicine. As an Army allergist he treated patients of all ages, including soldiers, family members, retirees, and civilian employees. He left Germany and the Army in 2005 to launch a solo allergy/immunology practice in 2005 back in Vermont.
He spent the next 11 years as an established allergist in the Burlington, Vermont area. When his son graduated from high school, he and his wife decided to make a bold change, and return to Colorado. He joined Denver Allergy & Asthma and Boulder Valley Asthma and Allergy in July 2016.
Dr Newman is passionate about delivering high quality specialty medical care to his patients and has a broad set of interests in allergy and general medicine. An outdoor enthusiast in all seasons, when not at work he loves the wilderness and the mountains, camping, hiking, canoeing, and fishing whenever he can find the time. He is married and has a son who is at CU Boulder.

Read MoreDr. Rumbyrt grew up in the Chicago area where his love of baseball (White Sox), White Castle hamburgers, and science was first kindled. He first became interested in medicine after visiting a genetics research lab at Argonne National Laboratory while in high school.
He joined Denver Allergy and Asthma Associates in 1994 and has served as its President since 2000. He has a special interest in the treatment of chronic hives, chronic sinusitis, and asthma and is an active lecturer on these subjects as well.
Dr. Rumbyrt has earned the reputation as one of the practices’s “traveling allergists” as he attends clinics twice a month in Eastern Colorado and Western Kansas, logging almost 10,000 miles per year in his reliable mini-van. The monotony of travel is mercifully broken by a constant supply of books-on-tape making him one of the best “least-well-read” doctors in Denver (a category yet to appear in 5280 magazine). His wife of over twenty years, daughter, and two sons occasionally giggle at his various voices and attempts at humor. He has difficulty with the driving games on the Wii. His free time is spent coaching youth soccer, basketball, and baseball and mining statistics for his fantasy baseball team.

Read MoreAfter practicing medicine for 38 years, I have decided to retire in early 2023. Multiple COVID infections and never ending long COVID symptoms have taken their toll on myself and my family. I felt a need to continue working until the pandemic became endemic. This has now happened. I have been honored that so many patients over a long career have entrusted me with their medical care. I am also comfortable leaving at a time when we have two experienced physicians joining BVAA. I am comfortable that the patients I am currently treating will be left in good hands. Hopefully I will be remembered as a physician who cared about his patients and tried his best to help them. May good health, joy and happiness find their way to your doorstep.
